Frequently Asked Questions
Who should get this procedure and what are the expected results?
Those who are constantly asked if they are tired or angry can benefit from this procedure. You may also have drooping eyebrows, brow asymmetry, deep creases, “concentration” lines above the nose and between the eyebrows, or flattened brows with no arch. Anyone with descending brows and mild or more lines will benefit from a brow lift. Feminine arches can be sculpted, while for men, a more masculine brow can be sculpted for a natural look. Any brow lift will provide a natural, friendly, rejuvenated look to those with telltale signs of aging.
What should I expect before my procedure?
Since there are multiple techniques for a brow lift, a consultation with us will determine what is the best surgical approach to achieve the perfect look for your individual goals. Your surgeon will place incision points at precise locations to help maximize results while hiding the incisions, often in the temple or hairline. The surgery itself is performed under anesthesia and usually takes one to two hours.
What should I expect after my procedure?
Typically an overnight hospital stay is not needed, and you can go home the same day. Your forehead will be covered with dressings and will be swollen from the procedure. Your specific recovery will depend upon the tailored package you choose, but for most patients, ice packs on your forehead help to reduce swelling, bruising and pain for the first 48 hours. You will feel your skin tighten as you heal, and stitches will be removed after four to five days. After the first week, you may feel well enough to resume normal activities, but be careful! Your skin is still healing, so extra protection from the sun is needed for next one or two months. Wear a hat and sunscreen when you head out. Results should be apparent after the first month, and maximal results should be apparent after three months.
What if I’m not ready for surgery?
If you feel a surgical intervention isn’t for you at this time, we offer a range of injectables, fillers, laser treatments and skin care treatments that are easy and non-invasive. See our non-surgical services.
Can this be combined with other procedures?
Yes! Common surgeries combined with a brow lift include eyelid surgery and facelift; even tummy tucks and other body contouring can be done at the same time. Please consult with one our surgeons to determine what’s the best approach for you.
