Dr. Linda Phillips is a Professor and Chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, TX. She is a board-certified surgeon who serves as the Truman G. Blocker, Jr., M.D. Distinguished Professor, Medical Director, Plastic Surgery, and Associate Director, Plastic Surgery Residency Program. Her cosmetic focus centers on aesthetic surgery of all types, including breast augmentations, lifts, abdominoplasties, facelift/necklift and eyelid surgery.
Dr. Phillips was born in Chicago, IL and remained there to complete her undergraduate, medical degree, and Basic & Plastic Surgery residencies at the University of Chicago and her General Surgery residency at Northwestern University.
After completing her residency, Dr. Phillips held several clinical and academic appointments prior to joining UTMB in 1988. Throughout her career, Dr. Phillips has received numerous accolades. She has been included in the Best Doctors in America database, was listed in the Guide to America's Top Surgeons, was named a Texas "Top Doc" and was recognized by Texas Monthly as a Texas Super Doctor. She was honored with the "Young at Heart" award from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Distinguished Service Award from the Plastic Surgery Foundation.
Dr. Phillips has authored over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and over 45 book chapters in surgical textbooks.
