Frequently Asked Questions
Why would I need/want this service?
If you are concerned that your butt is too small or lacks the fullness or roundness that you desire, you may be a good candidate for a buttock augmentation. This is also an ideal procedure for anyone who is bothered by asymmetry in their buttocks. If you are bothered by sagging skin in the buttock area, you may be a candidate for a buttock lift. For either procedure, you should be physically healthy, maintain a stable weight and not smoke.
What to expect if I get this done?
Within three to six months of your surgery, the buttock tissues should settle into place to achieve your final result. Some visible scars will remain, but they will significantly fade over time. The results of this procedure are generally long-lasting, but you will likely see some subtle changes in firmness simply due to the natural aging process.
What should I expect before my procedure?
A consultation with one of our surgeons will be the best way to determine if you are a candidate for a buttock contouring procedure. You will get to review before and after pictures of other patients with similar body types to get an idea of what your result may look like. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and usually takes about two to three hours.
What should I expect after my surgery?
Your incisions will be covered in dressings or bandages, and a slim tube may be placed under the skin to provide drainage temporarily. Your buttocks will be wrapped in a support garment that you will need to wear constantly for as long as your surgeon advises. You will receive instructions to follow at home and prescriptions for medication, and schedule a follow-up appointment with your surgeon. You should expect to limit activity and follow specific guidance regarding sitting and lying down, to ensure the smoothest recovery. Be sure to follow your surgeon’s instructions carefully.
