Burn Wound Management and Safe Patient Transfer to a Specialized Burn Care Facility

This educational opportunity is a one-hour live presentation offered free to organizations who are interested in enhancing the initial care provided to patients with burn injuries. Registered Nurses caring for burn patients will learn the current standards of care for burn injuries and proper patient preparation for transfer to a burn care facility to achieve optimal wound healing as well as minimize morbidity and mortality.

Learning Outcome(s): 80% of learners will have an increased knowledge by stating a practice change related to the care of the patient with a burn injury.

Nurses who attend this presentation will receive 1.0 Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours.

You must be present for the entire presentation to obtain credit.

Visiting Medical Students

Students from U.S. Medical Schools

Medical students from other U.S. institutions in their final year of medical school may apply to take an elective at UTMB through the VSLO Application Service (VSLO). Access to VSLO is granted by your home school.

Students from Non-U.S. Medical Schools

UTMB only admits non-U.S. medical students for visiting rotations if the student's school has a current affiliation agreement with UTMB. If you are a student at an affiliated school, you must be in your final year of medical school to qualify for enrollment in an elective course at UTMB. You are ineligible if you are not in your final year, or have finished medical school.
