Celebrating UTMB’s 2025 Good Samaritan Excellence in Nursing Award Recipients

The University of Texas Medical Branch is proudly celebrating nurses from various UTMB campuses honored by the Good Samaritan Foundation for their outstanding dedication to patient care and service.

This year, Morgan Cangelosi earned the prestigious Gold Award in Nursing Education: Faculty, and Julie Hanson received the Silver Award in Non-Hospital Based Care. They are joined by more than 50 Bronze Award recipients representing diverse categories such as Large Hospital, Small Hospital, Nursing Education, Clinical Educator, and Non-Hospital Based Care.

The Good Samaritan Excellence in Nursing Awards celebrate nurses nominated by their peers for their passion, mentorship, and service. Each nomination is reviewed by a distinguished panel of clinical leaders from the Texas Medical Center, ensuring that these awards honor those who truly lead at the bedside and beyond.

Congratulations to all our winners for setting the standard in nursing excellence!
