2025 Holiday Schedule

The University of Texas Medical Branch will celebrate the Winter holidays Wednesday, Dec. 24 through Thursday, Dec. 25, and Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. Schools, business areas and administrative offices will be closed to allow our staff and students to spend time with their families.

UTMB’s hospitals and ERs on the Angleton Danbury, Clear Lake, Galveston and League City campuses are always open. UTMB Health urgent care clinics will feature special holiday hours, and many other UTMB clinics will be open on a modified schedule.

Retail & Dining Holiday Hours

Guests, patients, and employees on our campuses will find the following dining and retail options available during the 2025 Thanksgiving holiday.

Galveston Campus 

Health Education Center (HEC):
  • The HEC Café: Closed starting 12/22/2025 and will reopen on Monday, 01/05/26.
John Sealy Hospital:
  • Sub Connection: Open 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.  from 12/20/25 to 01/04/2026.
  • Café on the Court, and Starbucks: Closed. The grill will be open as per usual, but closed on 12/24, 12/25 and 01/01.
  • Chick-fil-A: Closed starting 12/22/2025.
  • John Sealy Store and Parking Office: Closed on 12/24, 12/25 and 01/01.
Jennie Sealy Hospital:
  • Bistro 712: Open as per usual but closed on 12/24, 12/25 and 01/01.
  • Jennie Sealy Store: Closed on 12/25 and 01/01. Open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 12/24.
  • Vending Areas: Open 24/7.

League City Campus 

  • Bayside Bistro Grill: Open 12/24 and 01/01 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., grill only. Closed 12/25.
  • Vending Areas: Open 24/7.
  • League City Campus Store: Closed on 12/25 and 01/01. Open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 12/24.

Angleton Danbury Campus 

  • Bayou Café: Open 12/25 for breakfast, then closed for employee event. Grill open 12/24 and 01/01.
  • Vending Areas: Open 24/7.

Clear Lake Campus 

  • The Grill: Closed 12/25 for employee event. Grill open regular hours 12/24 and 01/01.
  • Starbucks: Closed 12/22 through 01/01 and will reopen on 01/02/2026.
  • Vending Areas: Open 24/7.

All UTMB Health departments will return to regular schedules on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026.
