  • Be Our Guest: Find a Provider Has More Flexibility for Guest Users

MyChart's online scheduling tool through the Find a Doctor website has more flexibility for guest users, including guest users scheduling an appointment on behalf of someone else.

Once an appropriate appointment time is found, click “schedule for someone else” under the Continue as guest options:

    schedule for someone else

    Then enter the patient’s information:

Next, the person filling out the form (guest) will enter their information and their relationship to the patient:

    MyChart Scheduling Your Details

After both parties' information is entered, the patient’s insurance information is gathered:

    MyChart Scheduling Insurance Details

The appointment is then scheduled, and an email is sent to both the patient and guest user:

    • Pending insurance
    • Outstanding
    • Not on payment plan
    • Payment plan
    • Scheduled payment
    • Paid off
    • With collections
    • Closed

  • Growth Chart Optimized

The Growth Charts activity in MyChart now shows mobile-friendly, interactive graphs that make it easy for patients and proxies to see percentiles and trends. Hovering over data points brings up an informational tooltip that shows the date of the recording, the age of the patient at that visit, and the measurement value and percentile. Multiple charts can appear on the same page, so it's easy to compare information across different charts within a data set.

    • Basic demographic information

    • Allergies
    • Current medications
    • Current immunizations
    • Health issues

  • Shortcut Changes in MyChart

Shortcuts are now larger and are on the home page of MyChart instead of in the header, making it easier for patients to find self-service activities. While previously there were four shortcuts in the header of each page in MyChart, now there are six shortcuts at the top of the home page instead. By default, the top six shortcuts are:

    • Schedule an Appointment
    • Messages
    • Visits
    • Test Results
    • Medications
    • Billing Summary
    MyChart Shortcut Changes

Patients can also still customize shortcuts for themselves by clicking the gears icon which takes you to the Change Your Shortcuts activity, it is right next to the shortcuts on the home page.

  • Stronger Passwords Now Required

To enhance security and safeguard your personal data, this latest upgrade strengthened the minimum password requirements for access to user accounts. The new standard requires passwords to be a minimum of 8 characters long, have at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter, and use a combination of letters and numbers. If your current password does not meet these minimum requirements, you will be asked to reset your password when you go to log in.

  • Closed Visit Accounts Now Appear in MyChart Billing Details

When patients need to view billing information for closed visit accounts (visit accounts that have no outstanding balance), they can use the new filters pane on the Details tab of the Billing page in MyChart. Patients who are submitting reimbursement requests for their FSA or HSA accounts often need this information at the beginning of the year. Previously, closed visit accounts would eventually fall off the list, and patients could only retrieve billing information for those visit accounts by calling the billing office. By default, the Active accounts filter is selected, and patients can view other visit accounts (including closed visit accounts) by switching to a date-based filter.

  • Patients Now Have the Option to Continue Recent Conversations When Sending Messages

When patients choose to create a new Medical Advice Request in MyChart and they select a topic and provider, they're now asked if they'd like to continue a recent conversation with their selected provider or create a new conversation. MyChart suggests up to five conversations from the past five days.

  • View Download and Send Visit Records Has a New Look and Is Mobile-Optimized

The new Visit Records activity is similar to the previous version, but patients might notice the following specific changes:

    • We've moved some steps of the workflow, such as previewing documents, to the full MyChart page rather than a separate window.
    • The activity is now mobile optimized, so patients can more easily view their records on mobile devices.

  • Completion of Multiple eCheck-Ins

Patients with two or more appointments eligible for eCheck-In are brought to the new eCheck-In landing page after completing their first eCheck-In instead of being brought directly to the Visit Details.

For each appointment, the landing page includes key information for the patient, such as the location name, provider name and photo, visit type, date, and time. Additional appointment information can be found on the Visit Details page as usual.

E-Visits and appointments that are not yet eligible for eCheck-In don't appear on the landing page. However, patients can still see all their appointments in the Visit List.

Upgrade for UTMB Health’s MyChart

On Sunday, Sept. 12, we upgraded the look and functionality of UTMB Health's MyChart to better serve our patients and their families. These enhancements will make managing your medical health record an even better experience. Below are a few of the new features:

  • New Message Center with Conversation-Based Messaging

MyChart has redesigned how it organizes your messages. Now all messages appear in a threaded view so you can easily follow the history of a conversation. You can also search and bookmark messages to make it simple to find a specific topic or conversation.

  • New “How To…” Videos

To help guide you around some common and more advanced MyChart features, there is now a library of instructional videos available. The library includes a general tour of MyChart, shows how to share your chart, explains proxy access, demonstrates video visits, and more. Preview the videos at the links below, or look for video links when using these MyChart features:

  • Test Results Daily Digest

Receiving too many emails about test results? You can now opt into receiving a single daily notification when you have test results available. You can select this option under the “Communication Preferences” menu in MyChart.

  • Implant Activity

For patients whose care has included any type of medical implant, MyChart now has a dedicated “Implant Activity” section. Here you can review various details associated with any implants in your record.
  • Download a PDF of your vaccination record from MyChart Mobile

In case you missed it, you can download a PDF of your full vaccination record from the MyChart mobile app. If you’ve had a COVID-19 vaccine and need to share the record, you can now do so from your phone.
