UTMB Health Eye Center launches eye health video library

Short informational videos about how to apply eye drops, homecare for blepharitis, low vision aids and more are available online in the UTMB Health Eye Center video library.
In the videos UTMB Health eye doctors provide instructions about home eye care and information about common eye conditions. Other videos feature UTMB Health Eye Center patients sharing their personal experiences with treatment for conditions including cataracts and macular degeneration.
Dr. Bernard Godley, Professor and Chair of the UTMB Health Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, said, “We’re producing these videos as part of our commitment to excellent patient care quality. Viewing the videos helps educate patients about eye conditions and homecare and will improve compliance and treatment outcomes
“Video is very useful because it reinforces and clearly illustrates the instructions that our staff are giving patients in the eye clinic. Then they and their caregivers can watch the videos at home if they have any questions.”
